Basketball Recap: Urbana's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Urbana walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 50-25 margin over the Indian Lake Lakers on Wednesday. The Hillclimbers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Peyton Mounce was her usual excellent self, going 11-for-23 on her way to 27 points and eight boards. The contest was her 20th in a row with at least 17 points. Olivia MacKendrick was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

The victory (which was Urbana's fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.4 points. As for Indian Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, Urbana will square off against Batavia at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Urbana is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season. Indian Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
