Basketball Recap: Southaven Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Southaven won the last time they faced Lewisburg and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Southaven Chargers came out on top against the Lewisburg Patriots by a score of 46-39. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Patriots are ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Neely Presley and Parker Moss certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Presley posted ten points and five rebounds, while Moss had ten points and five assists. That's the most rebounds Presley has posted since back in November of 2024.

Southaven's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Lewisburg, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Southaven wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-50 loss against Hernando on the 9th. As for Lewisburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-28 defeat against Oxford on the 9th.
