Basketball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Syracuse

Syracuse had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Rachel McBride did her part to make it six on Friday. The Syracuse Titans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-41 victory over the Bingham Miners thanks in part to McBride, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Maylee Anderson, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 16 points. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Bingham lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Iman Finau, who posted four points along with eight boards, six steals, and five assists. Evalyn Roberts was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Syracuse's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Bingham, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.

Syracuse wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-35 victory against Cyprus on the 7th. As for Bingham, they will take on Riverton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Addy Horsley and Faythe Stauffer.
