Volleyball Recap: Morgan County's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Morgan County waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Pike County Pirates by a score of 2-0. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Morgan County took both sets by at least 17 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-7.

Among those leading the charge was Camryn Scherer, who had five aces and four digs.

Scherer wasn't the only good server: Morgan County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 21 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Morgan County's record is now 11-2. As for Pike County, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-5.

Coincidentally, Morgan County and Pike County will both be playing Callaway the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Pirates will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
