Basketball Recap: Tell City Takes a Loss

If Tell City was riding high fresh off their 77-21 takedown of Cannelton last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tell City Marksmen lost to the Heritage Hills Patriots on the road by a 67-51 margin on Friday. The Marksmen haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Gray, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 17 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Gray also posted a 64% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tait Wetzel, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Tell City's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Heritage Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.

Tell City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-57 win against North Posey on the 22nd. As for Heritage Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-52 loss against Princeton on the 25th.
