Baseball Recap: Ashdown's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Ashdown unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Gosnell Pirates by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since March 29, 2024.

Kutter Dollarhide was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Wood Walton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Walt Jones was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Ashdown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Gosnell, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashdown will host Stuttgart at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gosnell, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Searcy at 11:15 a.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Gosnell 4.1, Searcy 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
