On Friday, Espanola Valley faced Organ Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Espanola Valley Sundevils came out on top in a nail-biter against the Organ Mountain Knights, sneaking past 62-60. That's more bragging rights for the Sundevils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Espanola Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Organ Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Espanola Valley and Lovington will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Organ Mountain, they will challenge Los Lunas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
