Baseball Recap: Carlyle's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but Carlyle unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 9-2 to the Nashville Hornets. The Indians/Lady Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Rhettick Steinkamp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. He also scored a run, marking his first of the season. Matthew Guthrie was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Carlyle's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Nashville, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlyle will host Sparta at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nashville, they will welcome Anna-Jonesboro at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
