Basketball Game Preview: Austin Eagles vs. Silver Creek Dragons

Austin is 1-9 against Silver Creek since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Austin Eagles will head out to challenge the Silver Creek Dragons at 2:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Austin comes in on nine and Silver Creek on eight.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Austin beat North Harrison 46-41. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Eagles were down 36-19 in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Silver Creek). They slipped by Corydon Central 80-79 on Thursday.

Austin pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.8 points. As for Silver Creek, their record is now 14-2.

Austin couldn't quite finish off Silver Creek in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 and fell 49-46. Can Austin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
