Football Game Preview: Fleming Island Golden Eagles vs. Riverside Generals

The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will face off against the Riverside Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Fleming Island 9.1, Riverside 10.8) so any points scored will be well earned.

Fleming Island is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Keystone Heights for the full four quarters, racking up a 33-2 victory. With the Golden Eagles ahead 20-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of Atlantic Coast.

Fleming Island's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.8 points on average over those games. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Everything came up roses for Fleming Island against Riverside in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as the squad secured a 43-0 win. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Generals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
