Softball Game Preview: Tippecanoe Red Devils vs. Troy Trojans

For the second straight game, Tippecanoe will face off against Troy. The Red Devils will challenge the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Tippecanoe's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Troy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Tippecanoe will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Troy, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Red Devils walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Trojans on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

For Troy's part, Alexis Ater was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Ater's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maddie Wright, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Tippecanoe's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Troy, the loss snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 11-4 record.
