Jack Lloyd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Seth Hoderewski was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Zack Schaedel also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Schuylkill, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Panther Valley with a sharp 9-1 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

North Schuylkill also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Chase Slotcavage gave up a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Landen Smith was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Hunter Rogers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

North Schuylkill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Whitehall pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for North Schuylkill, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-8.

Whitehall skirted past North Schuylkill 3-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Zephyrs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
