Savannah Christian is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Toombs County just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. Meanwhile, Christian Heritage waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took their game with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over the Indians. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.
Christian Heritage's win came from a few key players Savannah Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Henry Hill, who rushed for 54 yards and one score on only five carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended one pass. Christian Heritage also got help from Jacob Tatum, who showed off his sure hands for 87 receiving yards.
One reason for the win was Christian Heritage's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. Cooper Middleton refused to say out of the backfield, picking up three sacks all by himself. He was another major factor on D, picking up three sacks, forcing two fumbles, and making 12 total tackles (6.0 for loss).
Christian Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Savannah Christian, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.
