Game recap: Chapin High School Football Team defeats Andress

EL PASO, Texas - Chapin (El Paso, Texas) saw its 27-point lead dwindle to six, but still managed to hang on and beat Andress (El Paso, Texas) 34-28 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Seth Gonzales touchdown pass to Collin Bailey in the first quarter, the Huskies were up 20-0 at the half.

Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at 20.

With the win Chapin extended its winning streak to five games. Chapin defeated Austin 48-0 last week.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 51-11 win for CHS.



The defeat comes as a step back for Andress, who notched a 27-7 victory over Bowie in its previous outing. The loss snapped Andress' three-game winning streak.

Andress (5-2) goes up against Austin in a 4A Region I District 1 game matchup next week, while Chapin (5-3) locks horns with El Paso also in a 4A Region I District 1 game.
