Softball Recap: Shaker Comes Up Short

Shaker easily dispatched Catholic Central last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Bison fell just short of the Shenendehowa Plainsmen by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Bison couldn't push the score so high this time.

Shaker saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jezabella Gray, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Shaker has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Shenendehowa, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shaker will challenge Ichabod Crane at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Shenendehowa, they will venture away from home to face off against Bethlehem Central at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
