Basketball Game Preview: Doddridge County Bulldogs vs. Clay County Panthers

The Doddridge County Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Clay County Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Doddridge County will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Tuesday, Doddridge County didn't have too much trouble with South Harrison as they won 64-47.

Doddridge County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaden Solomon out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave Solomon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Thomas, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Doddridge County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clay County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Roane County by a score of 52-45 on Thursday.

Clay County's record is now 2-5. As for Doddridge County, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Everything went Doddridge County's way against Clay County in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Doddridge County made off with a 61-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Doddridge County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
