Sandy took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Central Catholic, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pioneers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Rams on Monday. For the Pioneers, this counts as revenge for the 11-1 win the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Sandy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Central Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sandy is set to face off against their familiar foe Clackamas at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Central Catholic will square off against rival Nelson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
