Basketball Game Preview: Sandhills Valley Mavericks vs. Maxwell Wildcats

The Sandhills Valley Mavericks and the Maxwell Wildcats will round out the year against one another at on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Sandhills Valley is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Twin Loup just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. The loss was the Mavericks' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Maxwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Paxton, falling 60-33. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Tigers are ranked 68th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Sandhills Valley fell to 4-1. As for Maxwell, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Sandhills Valley beat Maxwell 58-49 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Sandhills Valley repeat their success, or does Maxwell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
