Lewiston put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They escaped with a win against the McCall-Donnelly Vandals by the margin of a single free throw, 61-60. Given the Bengals' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Vandals are ranked 42nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lewiston's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for McCall-Donnelly, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

Lewiston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-38 win against Weiser on the 21st. As for McCall-Donnelly, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Payette at 7:30 p.m. on January 16, 2025.
