Volleyball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Mitchell faced off against Kearney on Friday. The Tigers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Their offense was headlined by Kate Pieper and Reese Sauer, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Kapri Stover and her five assists.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Kearney, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Rapid City Christian on the 3rd. As for Kearney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against McCook on the 3rd.
