Softball Recap: Roseburg Takes Down Ranked Forest Grove

Roseburg faced Forest Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Indians came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 6-2. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Cambria Bachmeier spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Roseburg got a big performance out of Joelle Mattox, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ciera Singleton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Roseburg's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Forest Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-9 record this season.
