Volleyball Recap: Carmel Falls Short Against Ranked Zionsville

Carmel faced Zionsville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Greyhounds fell 2-0 to the Eagles. The Greyhounds haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Carmel's offense was headlined by Eli Philistin-Lynch and Lorenzo Orlando, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Shepard Spidel and his 17 assists. Griffin Holdcraft controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 12-10-1. As for Zionsville, they moved to 20-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Carmel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Homestead on the 10th. As for Zionsville, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Center Grove on the 10th.
