Myrtle hadn't done well against East Union recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hawks claimed a resounding 35-6 victory over the Urchins. 35 seems to be a good number for the Hawks as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Myrtle didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Korbin Waldrop, John Hunter Smith, and Harlem McClendon picked up one apiece. Another thorn in East Union's side was Drew Stanton, who picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles.

Myrtle pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.4 points on average over those games. As for East Union, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
