Lincoln hasn't had much luck against Lowell recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lincoln is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Washington as they made off with an 11-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Branson Derrington was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Lincoln is 3-1 when Derrington posts two or more runs, but 12-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, Nicholas Chiu was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Lincoln: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Everett Carvalho, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one double.
