Baseball Recap: Richland Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Richland can now relate to. They fell 5-1 to the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies on Friday.

Tucker Evans spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits. Richland is 5-2 when Evans allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Richland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Coleman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Richland's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Forrest County Agricultural, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Aggies beat Richland by a score of 11-1 on Saturday.
