Basketball Recap: Burley Takes a Loss

Burley lost against Minico back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Burley Bobcats fell 63-50 to the Minico Spartans.

When it comes to explaining why Burley lost, don't look at Nash Gillette. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points and three steals. Gillette is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryker Page, who posted eight points.

Burley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Minico, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9.

Burley will venture away from home to face off against Twin Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Twin Falls will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Burley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Minico, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Wood River at 7:30 p.m. Minico is facing Wood River at the right time seeing as Wood River is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
