Gabe Winans gave up the fewest walks he has since back in March on Friday. He was unstoppable, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Winans' effort led Birdville over Aledo and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hawks will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 380 places lower in Texas), but they're not letting that get them down.
