Football Recap: Destin Comes Up Short

Destin extended their losing streak to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 1-9. They came up short against the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks, falling 30-7. If the Sharks were looking for revenge after losing 21-12 to the Tiger Sharks when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Destin lost, don't look at Junior Harris. Despite the final result, he rushed for 122 yards on only 14 carries.

As for Port St. Joe, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 23 points or more this season.

Port St. Joe was led to victory by Corban Butts and Zay Jenkins. Butts rushed for 110 yards on only 11 carries, while Jenkins picked up 73 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Butts' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 110 rushing yards. Jayden Curry got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As of now, neither Destin nor Port St. Joe have any future games scheduled.
