Denison won the last time they faced Sherman and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Yellow Jackets snuck past the Bearcats with a 45-39 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellow Jackets.

Despite the defeat, Sherman saw an underclassman step up: freshman Maleeyah Chapman dropped a double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds. Those 18 boards set a new season-high mark for Chapman. Marisa Kehrer was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Denison's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Sherman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Denison is set to square off against their familiar foe Anna at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sherman will challenge rival Lovejoy at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
