Recap: Denton Broncos vs. Grapevine Mustangs
The Denton Broncos had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 61-55 W over Grapevine on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Denton was led to victory by Ethan Sheats and Chase Thomas. Sheats dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Thomas scored 26 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Sheats hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 22 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Gunter, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Denton's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Grapevine, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denton will take on Lake Dallas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grapevine, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Argyle at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Argyle presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Grapevine in Texas (Argyle is ranked 20th, while Grapevine is ranked 534th).
