Basketball Game Preview: Sierra Vista Mountain Lions vs. American Heritage Patriots

Two dominant guards in Jevon Yapi and Mana Winitana are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sierra Vista Mountain Lions and the American Heritage Patriots will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Sierra Vista is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Notre Dame (SO), who was ranked 14th in their home state at the time (Sierra Vista was ranked first). Sierra Vista had to suffer through a 70-43 loss at the hands of Notre Dame (SO). The Mountain Lions' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, American Heritage didn't have quite enough to beat Clayton Valley Charter on Friday and fell 51-48.

American Heritage has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Sierra Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
