Basketball Recap: Manila Drops Highest Score of Season Against Wendover

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manila). They breezed by the Wendover Wildcats to the tune of 73-39 on Friday. The score was close at the half, but the Mustangs pulled away in the second half with 44 points.

Manila's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ruthanna Wilson, who went 9 of 16 en route to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave Wilson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Kallie Bair, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards.

Wilson wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Manila was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Manila is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Wendover, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-16.

Manila didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-49 win against Tabiona on the 1st. Wendover has also already played their next contest, a 58-44 loss against Rich on the 1st.
