Soccer Recap: Oak Glen Escapes with a Win

Oak Glen proved they can win big with a three-goal win on Thursday. On Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They beat the Heartland Christian Lions by a goal, winning 3-2. Given Oak Glen's advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 67th in West Virginia, while Heartland Christian are ranked 550th in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oak Glen's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Heartland Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 10 contests, dating back to last year. That leaves them at a 1-8 record this season.

Oak Glen will challenge East Liverpool at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heartland Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Columbiana at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
