Baseball Recap: GV Christian Comes Up Short

GV Christian blew Beaver Dam out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Beaver Dam got their revenge. The GV Christian Guardians fell just short of the Beaver Dam Diamondback by a score of 8-6. The matchup marked the Guardians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Christopher Oxhorn was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Oxhorn was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Wayne Budd made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Budd is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Bryce Tennis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Even though they lost, GV Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

GV Christian now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Beaver Dam, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.
