Football Game Preview: Middletown Middies vs. Springfield Wildcats

The Middletown Middies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Springfield Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Middletown's defense has only allowed 8.3 points per game this season, so Springfield's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Middletown is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lebanon 31-0. Considering the Middies have won five games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Springfield took on Springboro on Friday. The Wildcats beat the Panthers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 21-3. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won eight in a row.

Middletown better keep an eye on Braylon Keyes. He was instrumental in Springfield's win, throwing for 158 yards and two touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Springfield proved: they limited Springboro to a paltry -0.3 yards per carry. The Wildcats didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.7.

Middletown's record now sits at 9-2. As for Springfield, their record is now 8-4.
