Softball Game Preview: Burlingame Panthers vs. Carlmont Scots

The Burlingame Panthers will head out to take on the Carlmont Scots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Burlingame nor Carlmont posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Burlingame's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hillsdale, sneaking past 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

The team relied heavily on Samantha Arce, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Carlmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of King's Academy.

Jordyn Sbragia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

Burlingame's record now sits at 5-10. As for Carlmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.

Burlingame suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Carlmont in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
