Basketball Game Preview: Petrolia Pirates vs. Archer City Wildcats

The Petrolia Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Archer City Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Petrolia is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Petrolia had to suffer through a 70-22 loss at the hands of Seymour. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1170th, while the Panthers are ranked 281st).

Meanwhile, Archer City lost 50-28 to Windthorst on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost six in a row.

Petrolia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-21. As for Archer City, their loss dropped their record down to 17-14.

Petrolia couldn't quite finish off Archer City when the teams last played back in January and fell 43-40. Can Petrolia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
