Football Recap: Carmel Piles Up the Points Against Centerville

While Carmel put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Centerville. The Greyhounds simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Elks 48-0. Fans of the Greyhounds have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Anthony Coellner had an outrageously good game as he threw for 215 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 49 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Jacob Bellin, who picked up 125 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The victory (which was Carmel's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points on average this season. As for Centerville, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Carmel will head out to square off against Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Centerville, they will welcome Fairmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Elks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
