Volleyball Recap: Andrews Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Andrews had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Hiwassee Dam on Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-16.

Andrews' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Juliet Holloway, who had 17 digs, 16 kills, and one block. Holloway is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least seven every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lauren Cochran, who had nine digs and five aces.

Andrews was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last four matchups.

The win (which was Andrews' third in a row) raised their record to 7-2. As for Hiwassee Dam, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Andrews didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Swain County on the 9th. Hiwassee Dam has also already played their next contest (against Murphy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
