Basketball Game Recap: Bethany Christian vs. Austin Catholic Crusaders

Bethany Christian took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (barely). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Austin Catholic 52-49.

Bethany Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Clayton Beachell, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Nathaniel Byers was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.

Bethany Christian's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Austin Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethany Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Faith Christian at 6:15 p.m. on December 12th. As for Austin Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Parkway Christian at 7:00 p.m.
