Softball Game Preview: Tomball Memorial Wildcats vs. Klein Collins Tigers

Tomball Memorial hasn't had much luck against Klein Collins recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Tomball Memorial Wildcats face off against Klein Collins Tigers at 6:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tomball Memorial has three straight wins, Klein Collins has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Tomball Memorial's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Klein Forest by a score of 3-0.

The result came thanks to Emma Coombs's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kamdyn Folsom, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Klein Collins lost 9-3 to Klein Oak on Friday.

Klein Collins saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Genesis Garcia, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Klein Collins' loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Tomball Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8-1.

Klein Collins' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tomball Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Klein Collins, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain Tomball Memorial's hitters?
