Baseball Game Preview: Ambridge Bridgers vs. Blackhawk Cougars

Ambridge is 1-9 against Blackhawk since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bridgers will look to defend their home field against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Ambridge will be strutting in after a win while Blackhawk will be coming in after a defeat.

Ambridge is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since March 25th last Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Central Valley 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bridgers.

Meanwhile, Blackhawk lost 12-4 to Central Valley on Thursday.

Cody Woodward was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca Dilonardo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Blackhawk's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Ambridge, their win bumped their record up to 7-5-1.

Ambridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Blackhawk in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 5-0. Will the Bridgers repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
