Soccer Game Preview: West Brunswick vs. South Brunswick

West Brunswick hasn't had much luck against South Brunswick recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will look to defend their home pitch against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

West Brunswick is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against New Hanover on Thursday. The Trojans fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0. West Brunswick have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, South Brunswick managed to keep up with Ashley until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cougars lost 4-0 to the Screaming Eagle. While losing is never fun, South Brunswick can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Ashley are ranked fourth).

West Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-1. As for South Brunswick, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6-3.

West Brunswick came up short against South Brunswick when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
