Basketball Recap: Madisyn Demoss' Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Central over Culver Community

West Central has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 37-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Culver Community Cavaliers on Thursday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

West Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Madisyn DeMoss, who posted five points in addition to three steals and three blocks. Kailee Bishop was another key player, putting up nine points.

West Central's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Culver Community, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. West Central has already played their next match (against DeMotte Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Culver Community has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Oregon-Davis.
