Basketball Recap: Elite Academy Comes Up Short

Elite Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 47-32 bruising from the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Rocky Bayou Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Calix McCune led the charge by shooting 45% from the field to rack up 12 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. McCune is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Harrison Sanders, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 11 points and seven boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Elite Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Elite Academy and Meadowbrook Academy will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
