Del Campo and Oakmont are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Del Campo Cougars will head out to challenge the Oakmont Vikings at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Del Campo's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Granite Bay on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now lost three in a row.

Logan Smith was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits.

Meanwhile, Oakmont narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Pleasant Grove 3-1.

Jaylan Patterson tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Oakmont's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Wilson also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.

Del Campo's loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Oakmont, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Del Campo might still be hurting after the 10-3 defeat they got from Oakmont in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Del Campo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
