Recap: Gateway Olympians vs. Pomona Panthers
The Gateway Olympians were the 47-41 winner over the Pomona Panthers when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Gateway fell just short of Pomona by a score of 53-51.
Joshua James was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 22 points along with 8 steals and 7 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Pomona's points. Dj Hawkins was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Pomona, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Gateway will square off against Thornton at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Pomona's road trip will continue as they head out to face Standley Lake at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Standley Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday.
