Basketball Game Preview: Zeeland West Dux vs. Covenant Christian Chargers

The Zeeland West Dux will head out to face off against the Covenant Christian Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Zeeland West will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

It was a classic East v. West duel when Zeeland West challenged Zeeland East on Tuesday. Zeeland West narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Zeeland East 36-34.

Meanwhile, Covenant Christian came up short against Wayland on Tuesday and fell 54-47. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Wildcats are ranked 86th).

Covenant Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Zeeland West, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4.

Zeeland West strolled past Covenant Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2019 by a score of 44-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Zeeland West since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
