Baseball Recap: Rosemont Wins Going Away Against Johnson

While Rosemont put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Johnson. Rosemont was the clear victor by a 13-0 margin over Johnson. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Jack Blankenship and Nathan Coates made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Blankenship pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Coates struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. At bat, Blankenship scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1, while Coates scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. What's more, Coates posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Mason Arp and James Lara did most of the damage at the plate: Arp scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Lara scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Lara has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Rick Mejia, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Rosemont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Rosemont's record is now 7-5-1. As for Johnson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Rosemont will host Amador at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rosemont is facing Amador at the right time seeing as Amador is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Johnson, they will face off against Burbank at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Burbank will have lost four straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
