Recap: Bandys Trojans vs. Bunker Hill Bears
After flying high against the West Caldwell Warriors last Thursday, The Bandys Trojans came back down to earth. Bandys had to suffer through a rough 56-28 loss at the hands of Bunker Hill. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bandys in their matchups with Bunker Hill: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Bandys saw an underclassman step up: Brady Swett threw for 169 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Cash Obregon was another key contributor, picking up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Jason Willis jr was his usual excellent self, rushing for 280 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per carry. Willis jr was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 69 yards. Another player making a difference was Xavier Mccleave, who gained 61 total yards and two touchdowns.
Bandys' defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Bunker Hill, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Bandys will head out on the road to face off against Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monroe will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Bunker Hill will take on East Rutherford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in East Rutherford's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games.
